Our day would not have been the same without having Michał & Dorota with us, they captured the day absolutely perfectly. All our friends and family have commented on how the wedding photos are the best they’ve seen. It was definitely one of the best decisions we made towards our wedding and we couldn’t be happier.

Here are a few words from the Bride and Groom, Danusia & Timmy

Now that the wedding and honeymoon are over, we’ve come to realise that the most important things in planning a wedding are: a dress the bride loves, great venue, great music and amazing photographers. All the rest falls into place. We both live in London, where Danuta grew up but Tim grew up in Melbourne, Australia. We wanted a destination wedding as there would be people flying in to our wedding from Melbourne, Sao Paulo, Singapore and Warsaw and we wanted to make sure it was a wedding worthy of the flight! We decided on Granada, Spain as Danuta spent an Erasmus study year abroad there and we have been back regularly for long weekends. It’s a beautiful city, full of history and Andalusian culture. Danuta’s oldest sister married in Warsaw five years ago and found Michał & Dorota to photograph their wedding. The photos from their wedding were amazing and the experience the family had with them meant that as soon as we locked in a date we had to get Michał & Dorota to also do the photography at our wedding. After we quickly came to the decision on the City, the next thing to organise was the venue which we were keen to lock in quickly so that we could give our overseas guests sufficient time to attend. During the process of looking for a venue we decided to use a wedding planner as it become quickly obvious that there were many things that could only be achieved by someone on the ground. So we turned to Theresa Guthrie at AWOL Granada.

After the Venue was secured and the save the dates were sent it was all about the hunt for the dress. I initially didn’t know what I was looking for, however, on a trip to visit the Christmas markets in Copenhagen where my sister lives, we decided to stop by a wedding dress shop nearby, just for fun. Amongst all the beautiful (but far over budget) designer dresses, were a couple of prior season sample dresses on sale. The first one I tried on, was THE dress. It was the Claire Pettibone Chantilly dress, timeless and romantic with her signature lace back. We only had a few hours left in the city and so I bought it there and then, managing to hide it in the suitcase from Tim on the journey home. I had the dress fitted at Design and Alter in Battersea who worked their magic to adjust the dress to a perfect fit. Tim also thought that this was the one and only time in his life he’d have the opportunity to buy himself a bespoke suit, so went the guys at Gresham Blake to get himself a blue suit.

Our wedding was a relatively classic wedding with a Church service followed by a reception at restaurant overlooking the Alhambra. We both prepared for the big day in our respective hotel suites which were amazing former renaissance mansions converted into hotels, Dorota took some fantastic photos of the bridemaids, mother of the bride and myself getting ready while Michał went over to Tim’s hotel to take some great photos of Tim with his ushers getting ready. The Church is a 500 year old baroque church with some amazing colours which Michal & Dorota captured beautiful. After the ceremony we then carved out an hour out to take some beautiful photos within a garden before heading to join our friends and family at the ceremony where we eat, drank and danced until the sun rose.
